Engagement

We aim to build a community of practitioners, organisations, and academics to engage with our position and philosophy. We believe that our inter-disciplinary, multi-professional, and creative approach will enable the meaningful application of theory into practice.

Consultancy

We seek to engage educators, policy makers, and practitioners in conversations about how personal fitness coaching can, and should, benefit individuals and society. We provide a framework for others to develop and establish communities of care-full practice.

Education

We are concerned with the lack of research and literature on and about the politics of Personal Training. This, we suggest, leads to gaps in the education of practitioners within both higher education and the fitness industry. Through critical auto/biographical storytelling we add to, and redefine, understandings of personal training coaching

The Political PT is a platform for discussing the discipline of Personal Training and its significance within society. Central to the project is a forthcoming book in which we highlight our philosophy, approach and argument. More broadly we provide education and training, consultancy services and mentorship. In sum we aim to create a community that seeks to expand the scope of what physical fitness coaching can do in shaping individual lives, society, and the environment.
